Evelyn balanced her life with compassion, grace, resilience, and unwavering support and love for her children. Her life's mission was to keep her family together in love. Therefore, we proudly HONOR her name with this organization serving children and families with goals of empowering, protecting, and educating for improved lives.
Evelyn Moon Crisis Shelter DBA Evelyn Moon Children's Services formed in 2020 to provide an emergency shelter placement for girls. During our process of working to locate the appropriate facility, the decision was made to mobilize services that would be reflective of our goals. The implementation of an in-school, evidence-based mentorship program, Full Moon Mentoring. This program serves potentially abused, neglected, or displaced children residing with grandparents or other relatives, in kinship care, or with foster parents.
EMCS was then awarded a grant from the Children’s Trust Fund of Alabama. The Calhoun County School Board decided to support Full Moon Mentoring. Therefore, Evelyn Moon Crisis Shelter started doing business as Evelyn Moon Children’s Services to accurately describe the mobilized services being provided.
